This resulted in the creation of four separate exhibition centers. In April, 2005 employees of the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Oslo were shifted to a new building located in Kristian Augusts gate 23 near Tullinlokka.

The National Touring Exhibitions, Norway was included within the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Oslo on 1st July 2005. Allis Helleland, became the new director of the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Oslo on August 2007. The Norwegian Museum of Architecture was relocated from Kongens gate 4 in April 2005. The National Museum of Contemporary Art, Oslo experiences an influx of local as well as international visitors throughout the year.
