A borough of the city of Oslo in Norway, St. Hanshangen, Oslo, has its northern borders lying north of the buildings of Norsk Rikskringkasting and Ullevål University Hospital while to the south it shares its borders with Universitetet i Oslo campus at Blindern. The locals used to celebrate summer solstice at this park which is known as St. Hans in Norwegian language. The park was founded by the citizen sin the years 1876- 86 . The park has a pavilion, pool and reservoir. The park is nice play for morning nad evening strolls.
You can see Oslo's oldest building Aker kirke,constructed around the year 1100 to the south east of the park. Adjacent to it lies the Vår Frelsers Gravlund, which was fopunded in 1808. The place is the abode of the mortal remains of the innumerable people who died in the great famine and the cholera epidemic.
Bislett stadion stands to the south east of the park. Its construction was started in the year 1907 and was completed in the year 1940. This was the venue of the winter Olympics in in Oslo in the year 1952. A new stadium was constructed in its site after its demolition in the year 2004.
The borough is the home to the veterinary academy - Veterinærhøyskolen, the cemeteries Nordre Gravlund and Vestre Aker, and Youngstorget site of the origin of the Norwegian labour movement.
