The University of Agriculture is a popular residential academic institution. The university has its rooting back to the Punjab Agriculture College which was founded in the year 1906. The college was upgraded to University on 1st of November 1961. Since then the institute has carried the responsibilities of teaching, research, extension and short courses as major areas of its academics.

The campus of the University of Agriculture is located in the centre of the city at a distance of 12 kilometers. The Faisalabad International Airport and the Faisalabad General Bus Stand are situated about 2 kilometers from the University.
The University of Agriculture in Faisalabad has separate hostels for boys and girls students on the campus. The hotels are equipped with all the contemporary facilities for the convenience of the students. The hostels are open only to the bonafide students of the University. There are many laws and rules that the students residing in the hostel have to abide by.
