Gurudwara Dehra Sahib is the place where Sat Gur Arjun Dev Ji was martyred in the River Ravi on 30th May 1606 A.D. after facing the intolerable tortures imposed by Chandu. A Thara (platform) Sahib was built at the site by Guru Hargobind Ji in Samvat 1619 when he came to Lahore and later Maharaja Ranjit Singh built a Gurdwara here.
Gurudwara Dehra Sahib is connected with the 5th Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev. Every year during the month of June a number of Sikh pilgrims visit the holy site.
In 1909 A.D. construction of Parakashasthan and Manji Sahib was begun for the Parakash of Guru Granth Sahib and A.D. a local committee was formed by Shiromni Committee in 1925. Shiromni Committee took over the charge of Gurdwara in 1927 and re- started their work on the 21st April 1930 A.D. and finished it on 9th September1934 A.D.
The domes of Gurudwara Dehra Sahib were gold-plated and the floors were cemented. The front of Gurdwara is built in marble. International sangats are held every year here on Shaheedi Jor Mela, Visakhi, Death Anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and birthday of Sat Gur Guru Nanak Dev Ji. In November 1996, Government of Pakistan built 47 roomed Mian Mir Block for the tourists.
