Surrounded by mountains the Hunza Valley is an important part in the northern part of Pakistan. It is here that one will see structures like the Altit Fort. In fact the Hunza Valley has a very rich history that has seen many turmoils. It is one of those regions in Pakistan that will take your breath away by the sheer beauty of this place.

Hunza Valley became accessible to the tourists from the year 1970. This was the time when the Karakoram Highway was completed, making it easier for travelers to get inside the valley. The people here are quite friendly an d its is generally believed that they are the descendants of the soldiers who came with Alexander the Great during his conquest. The language that they speak is called Burushaski and the inhabitants are known as the Hunzukuts. All these have made this valley one of the main attractions in Peshawar.

Hunza Valley has always attracted the travelers and photographers. This is an excellent place for photography. There are various mountains that surrounds the valley thus increasing its beauty. The major mountains that can be seen here include Rakaposhi, Hunza Peak and Ultar Sar. These mountains too are good for hiking and mountains.

In the ancient time this valley was ruled by princes and this rule of the princes continued till the year 1974. The state remained a self governed one for at least 900 years. The literacy rate in this area is pretty good.

While sightseeing Peshawar you cannot miss a visit to this place. There is another fort here that is known as the Baltit Fort. Along with Altit Fort this one tells the story of the rich past of this Hunza Valley.

Tourist Attraction in Peshawar are thus made quite interesting and attractive by the presence of places like these. You can here for trekking as well. The city of Hunza has a very good bus service. These buses will take you to Gilgit. If you want you can also take the Karakoram Highway to go as far as the Khunjreb Pass. It is this pass that links this part of Pakistan with China.
