Plaza de Armas- This is one of the popular tourist attractions in Cajamarca.It has been the main square in Peru and was situated in the city center before the arrival of the Spanish. The modern plaza is situated in the site where Atahualpa, the last sovereign emperor of the Inca Empire was executed by the Spanish. Here you can find the La Cathedral and La Compania.

The Church and Convent of San Francisco- It is situated on the Plaza de Armas. The church has a huge collection of religious art which include icons and paintings from the Cusquena and Quitena Schools. This church is known for its catacombs where the monks were buried. If you visit the church you will find bare catacombs where you could see a few skulls and bones.

Ventanillas de Otuzco- It is an archeological centre and one of the popular tourist attractions in Cajamarca. It is one of the biggest megalithic constructions in America. If you visit this place you will find a number of sanctuaries, and caves with stone carvings.

Granja Porcon- It is prominent tourist attractions in Peru. It is a working farm and woodland area where you can see the local farming. You can also visit the sanctuary which has a number of local animals. This area has vast stretches of forest.

Santa Apolonia Hill- It is yet another popular sightseeing places in Cajamarca. On your way to the top of the hill you would find a chapel which was built in 1854. As you climb up the mountain you will see the terraced gardens. The rocks which are at the top of the hill have carvings which date back to the ancient Chavin civilization.

Casa Mario Urteaga- It is a small art gallery and has paintings of Mario Urtega. He is the only painter from Peru who had exhibitions in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
