Peru Volcanoes is one of the major Tourist Attractions in Peru. Ampato, Chachani, Andean Volcanic Belt, Coropuna, Ubinas, Sabancaya, El Misti and Huaynaputina are the major Peru Volcanoes.

The Ampato is one of the dormant Volcanoes in Peru. The height of Ampato is 6,288 meters. It is situated in Andes in the southern part of the Peru. It is about 100 Kilometers in the northwestern part of Arequipa.

Andean Volcanic Belt is on of the popular volcanic belt. It is in the coastal region of Columbia, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, South America and Ecuador. The reason of the volcanic belt was the subduction of the Nazca Plate which is in the Nazca region of Peru under the South American Plate. There are a number of active volcanoes in the Andean Volcanic Belt.

Nevado Chachani is regarded as the highest volcanoes nestled in proximity to the Arequipa. In a Native American language of South America the meaning of Nevado Chachani is skirt. There is no ice cap glacier in Chachani. The adventure seekers prefer climbing on Chachani. A number of tourist agencies offer an organized and guided tour to Chachani. The height of Peru Volcanoes is 6,075 meters.

Nevado Coropuna is regarded as the highest volcano of Peru with an elevation of about 6,377 meters. The meaning of Coropuna is shrine on the plateau. The Nevado Coropuna is one of the Peru Volcanoes which is situated in the second largest city of Peru which is known as Arequipa. The volcano is about 150 Kilometers from the northwestern part of Arequipa. There is an ice cap region of about 130 square Kilometers.

El Misti is situated in the southern part of Peru. El Misti last erupted in the year 1784. The height of El Misti is 5,822 meters. The El Misti is in between the volcano Pichu –Pichu and Chachani. The ideal time to visit the mountains is in between the months of May to September.
