The city of Cebu is served by the Mactan International Airport (MIA). The airport is situated 45 minutes from the city center. This popular international airport offers various interesting facilities like souvenir shops, duty-free shopping centers, tourist information centers, hotel and travel agency representatives, and car rental agencies. Many domestic as well as the international airlines serve the airport of Cebu.

The travelers or tourists coming to Cebu may stay here with a valid passport for 21 days without a visa. The Hong Kong and Taiwan passport holders require a special permit that is available from Philippine embassies and consulates.

The currency of Philippine currency is peso and is divided into 100 centavos. The major foreign credit cards are accepted at major hotels, resorts, shops and restaurants. The tourists are advised to bring along sufficient amount of change in small bills or coins.

The climate of Cebu is best from December to May when the weather turns dry. The climate is coolest from December to February, hottest from March to May. The temperatures can rise higher than 100F in the summer. The rainy season begins in July bringing torrential downpours that would sometimes inhibit movement.
