The main Airport in Manila is the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. It is one of the main hubs of transportation in Philippines. This Airport in Manila is a primary gateway to Philippines. It is in fact, one of the two international airports that serve the Metro Manila Area.

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport boasts of a very convenient location. It is located in the Metro Manila National Capital Region. Pasay City and Paranaque City both are located close to the airport. This Airport in Manila is located 7 kilometers to the south of the city. Business travelers mainly prefer availing the services of this airport as it is only a few minutes from the central business district of the Makati City. The airport is very easily accessible. The airport is well connected to all parts of the city. The Baclaran station connects the airport with the Manila Light Rail Transit System. In addition to this there are many buses and taxis that can help travelers to reach the airport.

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila is managed by the Manila International Airport Authority. It is a branch of the Department of Transportation and Communications. As par the record of 2007, the airport handled a total of 21,261,133 passengers. The 20.4% growth in passenger rate when compared to 2006 made it the 59th airport in terms of traffic handling.

The original airport, the Manila International Air Terminal, was opened in July 1937. The-then airport is located on Nielson Field. In 1948 the airport was moved to its current site. There are many terminals in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. In 1974 Philippine Government started constructing the First terminal. The construction was completed in 1981. The second terminal was finished in 1998. It started its operation in 1999. The second terminal is now popularly known as the Centennial Terminal. The name was given to celebrate the occasion of 100th year of Philippine independence.

There is also a third terminal in the airport. It is the newest terminal of the airport and is housed in the NAIA complex. The Manila Domestic Passenger Terminal of the airport operates all domestic flights. The Second Terminal is divided into two wings. While the North Wing houses the international flights the South Wing mainly regulates the domestic flights.
