The city of Baguio in the northern part of Luzon in Philippines is renowned for its numerous parks and gardens. Wright Park, Baguio is one such park which is visited by a considerable number of people. Situated in the eastern part of the city in front of the main entrance of the Mansion, the Wright Park, Baguio forms one of the most distinct tourist attractions in Baguio.
The Wright Park in Baguio offers spectacular views and provides scopes to the visitors for pleasant strolls. The park is known for a shallow and long stretch of water body which is referred to as the "Pool of Pines". This pool adds more to the natural charm and glory of the park.
Another notable attribute of the Wright Park, Baguio is the park circle. This park circle is located on one end of the park. During sightseeing in Wright Park, tourists can click postcard-type snaps of the park at both ends of the Wright Park. So it is recommended to carry a camera while taking a tour of the park.
The road leading to the "Pool of Pines" features pine trees on both its sides. The street lights add further to the décor and grace. Tourists visiting this park will notice some Igorots who are the natives of the Cordillera region in Philippines, in their traditional costume. They are ready to permit the visitors to take their snap in return of some amount of money.
At the end of the park towards the side of the Mansion, one will find some Igorots selling native handicrafts and artistic items. Such products provide some insight into the art and culture of the region.
Right from the main circle of the park, a lane runs to an extensive stairway made of stones. Climbing down this stairway will lead one to that spot where ponies can be hired for a short ride around the park. Pony riding is quite popular among the locals, be it a kid or an adult. When the weather is pleasant and favorable, this park is frequented by a comparatively larger amount of people. Even on any holiday, it gets crowded to the extreme.
Tourists visiting the Wright Park, Baguio can also rent a pony along with a professional guide who can take them to a distant area out of the park. They can ride along the South Drive, the Outlook Drive and the region of the Mines View Park. However, before opting for this pony ride, it is advisable to decide on the price to be charged later.
