Malapascua Island, Philippines is well connected with Maya. You can get to Maya easily by taking a 4 hours trip by bus or mini-van from the North Bus terminal in Cebu City. Maya is also linked with San Isidro in Leyte. Every morning, a boat leaves San Isidro for Maya. Malapascua is a 45 minutes boat ride away from Maya.

Monad Shoal or Shark Point- Here, one can see thresher sharks almost every day. One can also spot mantas and devil rays.

Gato- This place boasts of five dive sites with a huge diversity of marine life. You can regularly see whitetip sharks, banded sea snakes, mating cuttlefish, seahorses, nudibranchs, moray eels, scorpion fish, squid, big-mouthed mackerel, frogfish, pipefish, banded boxer shrimp, hermit crabs, mantis shrimp, and pygmy seahorses. There is also a cave that runs beneath the island.

Lighthouse- From this spot one can see rare mandarin fish and seahorses. There is also a small Second World War wreck.

Lapus Lapus- Here one can find superb soft and hard coral, in sublime condition. The rich marine life found here includes frogfish, various sweet lips, and cuttlefish and dwarf lionfish.

Bantigi- This is an amazing muck dive abounding in pipefish, nudibranchs, demon stingers, shrimps and crabs, sea moths, upside-down jelly fish, snake eels and Alvin of unusual critters.

Nunez Shoal- This place presents an amazing wall dive with marine creatures like eagle rays and sharks, white-eyed and snowflake moray eels, lionfish, scorpion fish, and nudibranchs and sponges.

Calanggaman Island- The Calanggaman Island is a desert island lined with palm trees and a pile of white sand. It is surrounded by crystal clear water and steep walls dropping off into the blue. A large pod of dolphins lives nearby the Island.
