Wales Rugby Team, Rugby World Cup Teams Wales

Rugby World Cup 2007 will be played by 20 teams to be hosted in France. These 20 teams have been divided into four pools namely A, B, C, and D. Wales teams will proudly represent their spirit games in the 2007 Rugby World Cup.

Rugby World Cup Teams- Pool A includes England, South Africa, Samoa, United States and Tonga.

Rugby World Cup Teams - Pool B includes Australia, Canada, Fiji, Japan and Wales

Rugby World Cup Teams - Pool C includes Italy, New Zealand, Romania, Scotland and Portugal.

Rugby World Cup Teams - Pool D includes Argentina, France, Georgia, Ireland and Namibia.

The rugby team of Wales secures 9th position in the International Rugby Board 2006-07. The team being the semi-finalists of 1987 Rugby World Cup and the quarter-finalists of 1999 and 2003 Rugby World Cup are trying to be the champions of 2007 Rugby World Cup. The Wales team has played 21 rugby matches and won 12 matches scoring 523 points.

Led by head coach Gareth Jenkins has competed in the Six Nations Championship besides the Rugby World Cup. The captain of the team is Stephen Jones. Most caps have been Gareth Llewellyn and Gareth Thomas. Top Scorer for the team has been Neil Jenkins. Wales rugby team won the Six Nations 23 times. They have also hosted the 1999 Rugby World Cup.

The team is recognized by the red jersey, white shirts and red socks with the emblem of The leek and the Red Dragon. Wales is accepted as a Tier One rugby nation by the International Rugby Board (IRB).

Wales host all their home matches at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, which is the largest football ground in Wales.

Many of the Welsh rugby players of the 1970s are considered as some of the best in the game's history. Some of its notable players include Dewi Bebb, Phil Bennett, Ray Cale, and many more.
