Dostoevskii Museum, Moscow is located in the eminent Russian author's family residence. It is a small house in the lands of the Mariinsky Hospital, where his father worked as a doctor. Dostoevsky was born in the hospital on the 11th November in the year1821 to a poor but piously virtuous family, whose father continually provoked the situation with alcoholism and aggression. After his childhood and the death of his mother in the year1837, the young Dostoevsky had left his family residence and sent to St. Petersburg to be present at the Academy of Military Engineering on the state desires of his father.
