Krypetsky Monastery, Pskov is regarded as the Russian Orthodox Monastery which has emerged as one of the popular tourist attractions in Pskov. Krypetsky Monastery, Pskov is located at a distance of 23 Kilometers from Pskov. The Krypetsky Monastery in Pskov was founded in the year 1485.

The Krypetsky Monastery, Pskov which is an important landmark was founded by St. Sawa Krypetsky. The St Krypetsky was a Serbian monk who was from the Mount Athos. The Pskov veche had given a large plot in support of the establishment. The plot of land was given to the monks. The monastery was conveniently accessed by the people by the road that was built by Prince Obolensky. However, in the year 1495 on 28th August St Sawa had died.

One of the eminent monks of Krypetsky Monastery in Pskov is Basil. Basil had described the life of the St Sawa in the year 1540. It was by the help of the previous chancellor Afanasy Ordin-Nashchokin that the ground of the monastery was improved as well as expanded. It was during the 18th century that there was a major damage in the abbey. However it was again restored by Evgeny Bolkhovitinov.

In the year 1918 the Bolsheviks forcefully closed the monastery and plundered it. They had stolen about five poods of gold from the monastery. When German had occupied the abbey during the Second World War the abbey was revived. It was in the year 1991 that the abbey again became operational and got attached to Russian Orthodox Church.
