Rastorguyev-Kharitonov's House, Yekaterinburg is regarded as one of the major Tourist Attractions in Yekaterinburg. It was built between 1794 and 1824 by one of the most successful residents of Ekaterinburg. The identity of the architect behind the construction of a building of such extraordinary brilliance, is still not known today. It is thought that M.P. Malakhov who was one of the most popular and sought after architects of the time, influenced the design and construction of the Rastorguyev-Kharitonov's House, Yekaterinburg considerably.
The impressive Ekaterinburg home was built with the main façade overlooking the square. The south façade features a colonnade of six Corinthian columns which form the balconies for the first and second floors and are based upon a high arcade. The contrast between the west and south facades are striking. The west façade lowers into the direction of the train terminals and the east façade opens up into a beautiful garden. Both the east and west facades are embellished with intricate grate work and columns.

It is a fine example of the Etaterinburg-style estate that was built on the most elevated part of the city. The façade is stretched along a ‘red-line’ and gives way to lovely gardens, court yards, lush green parks and adjacent premises. The garden, landscaped with a rotunda, artificial slopes, a pond and pavilions, became the first public park of the town
According to some records, Rastorguyev-Kharitonov’s House’s garden is situated near the Beriozovsky gold mine. Later, Rastorguyev-Kharitonov's House, Yekaterinburg became a centre of feuds and litigations for property dispute and this led to the mansion being unoccupied for quite a long time. During the Soviet Era, it housed the Palace of the Young Pioneers and currently, it is the home of the Children’s Centre for Creative Activities.
