Konigsberg Cathedral
Konigsberg Cathedral is one of the landmark buildings in Kaliningrad in Russia. The construction of the cathedral stared around the year 1333. The construction continued till the mid of the 16th century. The cathedral is considered till today to be unfinished as the west tower was never fully completed. The architecture of the cathedral reflects Brick Gothic style. The Konigsberg Cathedral is tucked on the Kneiphof island on the banks of the Pregel River. The attractions of the cathedral comprise the Wallenrodt Library, vaults and the grave of the great philosopher named Immanuel Kant. The cathedral houses murals that date back to the 14th and 15 th centuries; Renaissance styled monuments and Gothic styled wood carvings.

Kaliningrad Zoo
The Kaliningrad Zoo is one of Russia's oldest and largest zoological gardens. The zoo was founded in the year 1896 in Konigsberg which then belonged to Germany. But later in 1945 the town of Konigsberg became a part of Russia and was rechristened as Kaliningrad. The zoo covering an area of 16.5 ha is home to 2264 animals. The zoo also serves as an arboretum. Here you will get to see a rare collection of plants like the ginkgo tress. The zoo houses sculptures of animals that include a stone figure of orangutan and a bronze statue of elk.
