Apia, the capital of Samoa is situated on the northern coast of Upolu island. It is the major port and the only city with a population of 38,800. The Apia Harbor is the largest and the busiest harbor in Samoa. All the international ships carrying containers dock here. There are ferry services to Tokelau and American Samoa departing from here. There is a good network of roads here which are well maintained. The main roads are sealed while the unsealed roads are used less. Right hand driving rule is followed in this place. There are reclaimed land going deep in to the harbor. The land is the site of the multistory government offices as well s the Central Bank of Samoa.
