Sabi Sands Game Reserve, Mpumalanga is a part of Mpumalanga's Kruger National Park. Located on the south-western corner of Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga Sabi Sands Game Reserve is the most exclusive private game reserve in South Africa. There is no fencing between the Kruger Park and Sabi Sands Game Reserve and the animals can roam freely between the two reserves. The game reserve is an ideal haven for the wildlife lovers and adventure enthusiasts. Sabi Sands Game Reserve, Mpumalanga spreads over 65,000-hectare of forest land and is a nature habitat of many of the African animals.

The game reserves are the most interesting Mpumalanga Tourist Attractions. Without a safari at the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, Mpumalanga South Africa tour is incomplete. And again, no wildlife safari is complete without a close observation of wildlife and the exposure of life in the bushes and wilderness. The south-western part of Kruger National Park, which is the original Mpumalanga Sabie Sands Game Reserve, was proclaimed in 1898. Now it is the home to some of the most popular camps in the park as the wildlife is abundant. The 'hippo pool' is a major tourist attraction.

Leopards and lions are two of the main attractions of Sabi Sands Game Reserve, Mpumalanga. Now the animals have become accustomed to safari cars and vehicles that they do not notice them. You can even get to see the leopard hunting animals. Apart from lions and leopards other 3 of the 'Big 5' , buffalo, elephant and rhino are also can be seen roaming around.

Granite rocks among the tamboti, seringa, marula and olive tree jungles in Sabi Sands Game Reserve, Mpumalanga provides shelter for klipspringer, a small antelope and viewing platforms for lions as well. White rhino, wild dog and leopard are seen in large numbers in this area. The Acacia trees are ideal refuge and source of food to the larger herbivores such as giraffe and elephant. The Crocodile River bank is the ideal location for watching elephants, waterbuck, impala and the predators drinking water in the dark of dusk.

Sabi Sands Game Reserve, Mpumalanga is best visited between October and March, when summer rains change the dry land into a lush green tropical paradise. The game reserve become alive with baby buck and thousands of migratory birds.
