The Tomb Park of Jisandon, Daegu has been designated as the Historical Site No. 79 by the government of South Korea. There are dozens of ancient tombs on the ridge of Mt. Jusan, which act as a backdrop of the city and gives it a fictitious appearance. Tomb Park of Jisandon, Daegu consists of tombs of different shapes and sizes. The tombs lying in the upper ridge are larger than those on the lower parts.
The top constitutes the tombs bigger than 20 meters in width. The tombs were excavated in the year 1977, which revealed various mysteries. It was after excavation of the tomb No. 44, where they discovered that the living were also buried with the dead in this tomb.
You can walk up to the top of the mountain following the mountainous trail. It will take about 20 to 30 minutes to reach the top. No doubt, that the mountainous ridge will take you to the ancient Korean Era.
The Tomb Park of Jisandon also features Daegaya King Tomb Exhibition Hall. This exhibition hall displays the items that have been excavated from the Tomb Park and help you and guide you immensely to understand the ancient Korean tradition and culture at a glance.
Most of the items are from the tomb numbers 32-35 and 44, 45. The Exhibition Hall was built after the Tomb No. 44. There are copies of the natural paintings of the Goadong Tomb showcased in the hall. This is a center of immense tourist attraction.
There is a stone slab with markings representing the kingdom, a park, the traditional music hall, which are located around the Exhibition Hall. They display the glimpses of Gaya culture.
There are buses available from Daegu Seobu Bus Terminal to Go-ryeong within an interval of 20 minutes.
