EXPO Park, Daejeon is a theme park commemorating th Daejeon International Expo of '93. The park houses various pavilions with different themes. The EXPO Park, Daejeon has its focus on science and its future. The aim being to enhance the consciousness of the young mind about the importance of science, as was the spirit of '93 Expo.
The EXPO Park, Daejeon was opened as a theme park, keeping the spirit of '93 International Expo, with the theme of 'New Way for a Leap'. This is the first of its kind in Korea. The Park depicts international sciences and its future. It tries to encourage cultural exchanges by upholding the points discussed and agreed at the '93 Expo.
The Park has a IMAX Theater which is one of the larges of its kind in the world. The other features include 3D Theater, Turbo-ride, Theater, Electric Energy Pavilion, Nature and Life Pavilion, Hanbit Tower and Observatory, Energy Pavilion, Earth scape Pavilion Technopia Pavilion and Material Pavilion.
The EXPO Park, Daejeon has many pavilions to visit. One can visit the Space Reconnaissance Flight Hall, the Technopia Hall, the Earth Hall, the International Communication Hall with 12 language simultaneous interpretation system, the Hanbit Tower, The Expo Memorial Hall and the Energy Hall. The park tries to provide better services to the visitors.
The Hanbit Square that was constructed in May 1999, having as its theme of youth, love, romance and family is a nice place to visit, especially in the evening. There is a music fountain at the park which presents the biggest and the best fantastic multi-media show. There are shows using water, fire, fireworks and lightings. The fountain even dances to music. There are clod glasses of beer that can be bought from the outdoor cafes. The square has a full-scale flowering section, offering a beautiful sightseeing. There are fireworks display on the place, providing an exotic ambiance.
The EXPO Park, Daejeon also has other features as well. A monorail exists at the Park area. There is also a playground and large track of open space for holding different events.
