An important sightseeing attraction in Jeju is the Cheonjeyeon Falls, Jeju. Cheonjeyeon Falls, Jeju , the name of which means 'The pond of God', is actually a 3 tier waterfall. In the first cascade, you would find that the cliff is 22 meters high and from there the water falls into Cheonjeyeon pond which is 21 meters deep. In the second tier from the pond, the water falls further 30 meters and continues to be the third tier of the waterfall. The area around the Cheonjeyeon Falls, Jeju is surrounded by various rare plants and thus is the favorite spot of the botanists. The rare plants that you can find here are solipan reeds and Skeleton fork ferns.

An important attraction of the Cheonjeyeon Falls, Jeju is the cave in the eastern side, from the ceiling of which the falls originate. The Cheonjeyeon Valley is another important tourist attraction for those who come to visit the falls. There you would find the Seonimgyo Bridge. It is an arch bridge which has seven nymphs carved on each side. Thus it is also known by the other name “Chilseonyeogyo” which means seven nymphs. This bridge is of immense importance since it connects the Cheonjeyeon Falls in Jeju with the Jungmum Tourist Complex. This tourist complex is the largest one in Korea and is always buzzing with tourists.

Another must visit tourist attraction in the locality is the Cheonjeru tower which is octagonal in shape. On the surface of this huge Cheonjeru Tower you would find a painting portraying the legend of the nymphs and the mountain god that is associated with this waterfall of Jeju. There is an interesting legend which says that the nymphs would descend from the heaven at night for taking a bath in the pond of the waterfall. Thus it is believed that if you stand in the water of the pond on particular days of the year, you can be cured of all your diseases. Thus on these days of the year tourists flock in thousands to this tourist spot of Jeju.

The Chilseonyeo Festival is an important festival that is held every year in May. This festival celebrates the coming of the nymphs to this place for bathing.
