During a heavy storm a few years ago, the rock was hit by lightening and the ‘head’ part of the rock fell off to the sea. Thus nowadays you can not see this special feature of the Yongduam Rock, Jeju.
Within the vicinity of the Yongduam Rock, Jeju, you would find Yongyeon which is the Dragon’s Pond. A legend is associated with the pond also. It is said that the pond is so named because the dragon that was sent as an envoy used to play here and enjoy during leisure. The best part of the pond is that it has crystal clear water. When you look at the water you can see even the bottom of the pond.
