Adventure Sports in South Korea

It is because of the varied adventure sports in South Korea that this place is recognized as a sports paradise. It is home to a number of outdoor sports, adventure sports, water sports and winter sports activities. Special mention should be made about the Adventure Sports in South Korea.

Some of the main sports that are greatly enjoyed by all adventure lovers are –

Scuba/ Skin Diving- The Cheju Island is a very popular area for scuba and also skin diving and snorkeling. The water temperature and water quality are the best between June and October. There are many equipment rental agencies near popular dive areas and these provide a full line of gear. You are not allowed to bring compressed air tanks whether filled or empty, on flights, so you will need to rent them at your destination.

Snow skiing- Korea's mountains are not very high but they still offer many good downhill slopes. The season runs from late November through March. Snow boarding on most slopes is prohibited, but now they do allow snow boarders on slopes set aside specifically for them. There are the resorts that rent and sell ski equipment to fit all sizes. There are the ski instructors as well who can speak English and other languages.

Water skiing- This has recently gained popularity as there are innumerable rivers and lakes in Korea. Equipment can be rented at many water tourist areas and these are of great help and you can enjoy yourself the max.

Camping- This is preferable rather than the traditional form of hiking into the back country and pitching a tent there. Most Korean families are more likely to set up their camp site next to their own car or even in a common area for "car camping." Besides these there are other organized camp sites too that exist in the national parks and other tourist areas. But camping outside these areas is not permitted.

Fishing- This is a favorite one among all as there are a large number of rivers, streams, lakes, and ocean beaches, as well as man-made lakes and reservoirs in Korea. There are the fishing tours, both in fresh water and deep sea.

You can also opt for hiking and horse racing too.
