Also referred to as Inchon, the city of Incheon lies to the west of Seoul in South Korea. Incheon, South Korea is also home to the largest international airport of the country.

Home to over 2.5 million, Incheon is one of the primary tourist destinations in South Korea. In 1950, the city was the site of the historic event of Inchon Landing by American forces, one of the crucial events during the Korean War.

Excellent transportation in Incheon is facilitated by both air and sea, with a huge harbor and the principal international airport of the country. Several islands nearby including Yeongjong Island and Ganghwa Island, are easily accessible from the city.

Getting to Incheon is really easy and comfortable. The city is served by the Incheon International Airport, the principal airport in Incheon and also that of the country. The main international gateway of the country is on Yeongjong Island, which is a part of Incheon. Train services are excellent in Incheon. A train directly connects the airport to the Incheon Subway line in just about 20 minutes.

You can also avail of ferry services to get to Incheon in South Korea. One of the popular South Korean tourist destinations, Incheon enjoys excellent connectivity by ferries. A wide network of ships runs services from the Chinese ports of Weihai, Dalian, Qingdao and Tianjin. There are frequent ferry services from Yeongjong Island to Wolmido Marina with an interval of just 30 minutes. Ferries also ply between Incheon and the Jeju Island.

The city also boasts of a broad network of subways. Incheon is connected to the capital city of Seoul by the Seoul subway line 1. Super fast express trains connect Incheon and Yongsan. Getting around Incheon is easy via the Incheon Rapid Transit Corporation which owns and maintains a single subway line. Buses ply from Dongincheon Station every 10 minutes.

Incheon offers a lot of things to see and do. Catch amazing sights of the city’s official flower, the rose in its full glory during summer months as it embellishes the subway route into Seoul from Incheon.

The Chinatown with its classy restaurants and the lovely Jayu Park are some of the major tourist attractions in Incheon.
