The name of this International Airport is ‘El Prat de Llobregat Arropuerto’. It is the second largest Airport in Spain. It is about 10 to 12kms far from the main city of Barcelona. Traveling by Taxi is cost effective and a convenient way to get from the airport to the city centre, especially when traveling with family or a lot of luggage. Luggage trolleys are provided in the parking area itself. There is 24 hours security provided in the Parking area. The travelers who are waiting for their flights can shop for books, duty-free items, music CDs etc. in the Airport itself. Other services like Post office, ATM centre, Banks, Medical facilities, children play areas are also provided for within the Airport. For Businessmen, conference halls and meeting rooms are available with telephone, fax and internet facilities. This airport is mainly used for European flights and for Domestic flights. Vueling Airlines and Clickair mostly operate from this Airport other than Spanair, Air Europa and Iberia Airlines. Singapore Airlines and Delta Air Lines operate from this Airport for Asia and United States Destinations.
The Other airports include Girona, which is 103 kms far from Barcelona and it is in the Northeastern part of the city. Thus the Girona Airport is used by many tourists as a second option. There is a facility of Airport Bus, taxi or train from Girona to the centre of Barcelona.Barcelona administration is taking efforts to develop the Barcelona International Airport.
