In a zoo you can watch and admire the wild animals but to see them free and doing their own thing not dependent on humans to feed them is really a rare treat.If you are wild life enthusiast you will have good time in Sevilla. Sevilla does not have wild animals such as the Lion, Tiger or an Elephant. But Sevilla has lots of birds. Short toed eagles, griffon vultures are a common sight but you can spot some endangered birds as well, such as black vulture, black stork and imperial eagle. You can also spot some other birds of prey. Some of them are Bonelli's eagles, eagle owls and red kites.
If you are in a woodland area you might catch an azure winged magpie, hawfinches and orioles. In the dense thicket lots of wild boars live but as they are extremely shy animals you will rarely see them. It is relatively easy to spot a deer, rabbit and partridge. Other wild animals in Sevilla are foxes, Egyptian mongooses, genets, polecats, wild cats and badgers. Though spotting them is very difficult.
There are some caves around Sevilla. Bats have made their home in these caves. Some of the rare and endangered bats are found in the caves in the Cerro del Hierro.
