The Instituto Valencia de Arte Moderno is the institute of the modern art in Valencia. The art gallery is spread over two buildings. The buildings are called the Centro Julio Gonzalez and the Centro del Carmen.
Julio Gonzalez is considered as the father of contemporary Spanish sculpture, so Centro Julio Gonzalez is dedicated to him. The center has 9 showrooms and one of them showcases only the work of Julio Gonzalez. In one showroom the paintings by Ignacio Pinazo are shown. Tapies, Chillida, Paul Klee, Millares and Arroyo these are some of the famous artists whose work is showcased in the building.
The second building Centro del Carmen shows the work of young local and national artists.
The Instituto Valencia de Arte Moderno also has a book shop, archive, souvenir shop, library, photograph library, educational workshop and café.
The Instituto Valencia de Arte Moderno is open for the visitors, Tuesday to Sunday from 11.00 am till 8.00 pm. The entry to this institute is free.
