Along the way one can see several types of beautiful birds and butterflies and some wonderful waterfalls.

Canoeing at Samanalawewa – You can leisurely paddle at the Samanalawewa reservoir is another great chance which tourists get Beregala. The surrounding mountains add to the idyllic setting of the reservoir. Proper guidance and life saving equipments are provided to those who are new.

Horton Plains Nature Reserve is a 10000 hectare plain. Nature walk across this place will enable one to see elk, deer, giant squirrel, wild boar, wild hare, porcupine, and a variety of migratory birds which are integral part of this region.

The Devils Stair Case trail starting from the Horton Plains is also a major attraction of the region. On the way one can see Lanka Ella water fall and the Bambarakanda Falls. One will also come across Kingslyn estate and West Haputale.

Trail Starting from Non Feril Estate- This is an interesting route covering distance of more than 30 kilometers. The Nonperil waterfall is on this route.

Bambarakanda Falls- This is the highest waterfall of the nation. It is amidst dark green forests of pines and tropic trees comfortably saddled between Mt. Welihena and Mt. Bambaragala. To see this splendid falls, one must walk through lovely scenery of tea plantations, and paddy fields. One can even take a dip in the pool at the bottom before moving on to the nearest small village where one can enjoy lunch with the locals.
