Set in a complete contrast to it, the interiors of the temple are richly ornate. The richly carved and decorated inlaid woods, ivory, and lacquer add to the charm of the temple.
Inside the Temple of the Tooth, Kandy, you will find the relic is kept in a two storey inner shrine breasted by two large elephant tusks. During festivals, the tooth relic of the Temple of the Tooth, Kandy is brought out of the temple. The octagonal tower, built in 1803 is another attraction of the temple.
