The Skansen Kronan, Gothenburg is a fortress which was built in 1641 according to the plans made by Erik Dahlberg. The fortress along with the twin counterpart, Skansen Lion was constructed to fend off the attacks of Danes from the south, giving it the name Juteskramman (the Dane Scare). The construction of Skansen Kronan, Gothenburg was completed in 1695 on a hill top to give a good view of the central parts of Gothenburg.
Today Skansen Kronan in Gothenburg is a military fortress. The tower ornate is in the shape of crown to give it this name. One can reach Skansen Kronan, Gothenburg on trams 1, 3, 4 or 9 and reach Hagakyrkan and then walk across Haga. Then one has to reach the fort either walking up a steep stairway from Frigangsgatan in Haga, go for the sloping footpath from Skanstorget or else take the road from Lilla Risasgatan.
