Linköping Cathedral:
The church was built on this site in the 12th century and was expanded regularly over the following centuries, concluding on the 19th century tower. Linköping is said to have had the first Christian bishop in Sweden.

Linköping Castle:
It was the bishop's residence from the 13th century until the Lutheran reformation in the 16th century. At present it is the residence of the sheriff (landshövding) for Östergötland county. The castle also features a small museum.

The City Hall:
It was built as a secondary school (läroverk) in 1864. The tourists will see the Latin phrase “Initium sapientie timor Domini” (fear of the Lord is the beginning of all learning) above its entrance.

Public Buildings:
The public library, the administrative buildings for the diocese, the bishop's residence, and a sports house (gymnastikhuset) built in 1881 are situated around the hill crest.

Gamla Linköping:
Located to the west of the town, the Gamla Linköping open-air museum comprises an assemblage of 18th and 19th century wooden buildings.

The Swedish Air Force Museum:
Located in the suburb of Malmen, the museum houses over a hundred aircraft from the early 20th century to the modern era.

Located in Mjärdevi Science Park, the computer and computing museum features both ancient Swedish computers and more current events, such as the demo scene with its realtime multimedia productions.

Stångebro Monument:
Linköping is bounded on the east by the Stångå, on the banks of which stands the Stångebro Monument. It memorializes the battle in 1598.

Stora Torget:
With the Folkung Fountain (Folkungabrunn, 1927), one of Carl Milles’s best-known works, it is the main square of Linköping.
