Short History
The area around Pildammspark in Malmö was chosen as the place for the large Baltic Exhibit in 1914, in the early 20th century and it was designed by the famous architect Ferdinand Boberg. The Baltic Exhibit drew a huge number of visitors. There is a permanent photo exhibition about Crown Princess Margareta inside the Margareta Pavilion.
Pildammspark, Malmö was expanded during the 1920’s. There is Queen Silvia's rose garden, just next to the bird house. Pildammspark, Malmö features a rich bird life. The tourists can see birds like parrots, finches, peacocks in the beautiful park.In the 1930’s, the area by the old water tower was begun to be used as an outdoor theatre.
For the tourists there are two on site cafeterias, one by the waterside and another at the Margareta Pavilion.
