Bus Services
The city of Damascus has two main bus stations. these are Harasta (Karajat Harasta) and Baramke (Karajat Baramki). From Harasta, one can reach to the northern side of the country and also to Turkey. The main operator is Pullman Bus Services. Baramke has bus connection to the south, going as far as Jordan, Lebanon and the Gulf. One could also avail numerous minibus and micro bus services that serve all regional destinations.
At Baramke, a taxi station exists. it serves to destinations as far as Amman and Beirut. The service is available round the clock, and there are good number of yellow American Sedans available. One can also avail taxi services to Baalbek, though the serivices offered are not so frequent.
Train Services
The main station is Khaddam Station about 5km to the southwest of Damascus. Daily four trains leave the station to Aleppo. The historic Hijaz Railway provides two train services every week to JOrdan, from Monday till Thursday. Passengers of the train have to change trains at the Deraa station on the Syrian-Jordan border. Sleeper trains are available from Istanbul and Tehran every week. Damacus can also be reached from Amman twuce weekly.
Air Services
The main airport in Damascus is Damascus International Airport, situated at 32 km southeast of Damascus. The airport provides numerous facilities including, a Commercial bank of Syria branch, ATM which is Visa, Maestro, Cirrus and Master Card enabled. A tourist information office exists at the airport that is open round the clock. It provides free maps of the city. A Karnak Airport bus service plies between the airport to the southwest end of the Baramke garage taking time of 30 minutes. There are regular departure of the bus every half hour, starting from 0600 hours till midnight. The orange-white bus could be availed which are found to the right of exist of the Airport. One can avail car rental services from companies like Hertz and Europcar.
One can avail domestic flights to Aleppo, Deir-ez-Zur, Qamishli and sometimes to Latakia.
