Lake Lan
The Lake Lan is located near Shantzaiting in the northeastern end of Chiayi CIty. The Lake is encircled with hills and trees. The visitors come here for relaxation in the shades of the many trees. The Sanhsin PAvilion which is situated on the hill on the southwest of the lake provides a good vantage point to enjoy the beautiful sights of the city.
There are many recreational facilities around the lake which are used by the local people as well as tourists. There are more than 60 species of birds that are found at the Lake. The lake finds many bird-watchers round the year. There is a fountain at the Lake Lan that adds beauty to the tranquil motion of the water.
Shejih Towers
Shejih Towers is a landmark at Chiayi city. It is located in the northeast end of the Park. The height of the Tower is 62 meters and has an elevator. A Observation lounge exists at the top of the tower which provides a scenic view of the city. The Lounge is opened all day of the week. A Coffee shop exists at the Lounge which is an ideal place to get a good view as you relax with your favorite drink.
Jhongshan Traffic Circle
Also known as Chiayi Fountain, the Jhongshan Traffic Circle is situated at the crossing of Jhongshan Road and Wenhua Road. The construction of the fountain was supervised by the former Mayor of Chiayi, Shu Shih which he installed in 1969. The diameter of the fountain pool is 20 meters and a bronze statue of Sun Yat-Sen stands at the center of the fountain. The fountain is multicolored and provides 14 different variations. The water of the fountain reaches a height of 20 meters. Every 15 minutes, the fountain is turned on and the colors of it is truly spectacular.
Chiayi City Center
This fish market has two floors with an area of around 1,600 square meters. The first floor has an area for selling fresh fish, agricultural product sales area, a cooking area, a modern restaurant and also a classroom. The second floor has a museum showcasing the fishing artifacts.
