The Nankang Tea Park, Taipei is actually a Tea Plantation, situated at an an altitude of 200- 300 meters along the Section II of the JuiZuang Street. It was opened by the Economic Development Bureau of the City Government of Taipei with an aim of promoting the most popular product of Nankang, the BaoZhong or Baochon Tea. The Tea is half fermented and the color of the tea leaves are blackish green with a delighting fragrance.

There are many other tea plantations in the same local but the Nankang Tea Park, Taipei is the most famous in the whole region of Taipei and even in Taiwan. The Tea produced in this plantation has earned international acclaim.

About 150 years ago there was a man named Xi Cheng Wang from the Fukien Province of Mainland China. He use to produce Baochon Tea into Anxi Tea by following the method of the Wuyiyan Tea. After it was produced all the tea leaves were folded into a rectangular shape and was pcked in the bamboo writing paper of Fukien in the same rectangular shape. The name of the tea and the store was marked with a seal in the outer part of the package. That's how the name ' Baochon' came into being ('bao' means 'wrapping' or 'packing' and 'chon' means 'type' or 'seal').
