Wildlife in Togo has abundance of fauna and flora and includes about 169 species of mammals and a more than 670 species of birds. Fazao-Malfakassa National Park:

Located in the central western part of Togo, the park is very close to the international border that is shared with Ghana. This place has dense green vegetation, which is unexploited. The habitation of the Fazao-Malfakassa National Park offer different varieties. The place includes lush forests and savanna woodland and. Fazao-Malfakassa National Park is the home to many primates, reptiles, birds and other animals. Franz Weber Foundation of Switzerland runs and maintains the park. Safari tours are conducted from November to April which is the dry season in Togo.

Keran National Park

This park is located in the northern part of the country. The region is famous for the flood plains of the Koumongou River. Keran National Park is famous for the Mare-aux-lions that are a small stretch of wetland located close to the Koumongou River. Birds and mammals of different types are found here.

Fosse aux Lions

Located in the relatively dense area of the country, Fosse aux Lions or Lions’ Den has a huge population of about 60 elephants. Other animals found in this park include patas monkeys, Warthog and vervet monkeys. Few Antelopes are also seen in this park.
