Geography: Aruba is a flat island known for its silver colored white sand beaches. The western and southern coast of the island is sheltered from the violent ocean currents while the northern and eastern coasts are more often worn out by the sea. Because of this reason the northern and eastern region are uninhabited. Hooiberg and Mount Jamanota lies in the central part of Aruba. The capital city of Oranjestad is a beautiful place offering the best shopping destination of the island.
History: Aruba is discovered in 1499. It was then an island under the Spanish territory. In 1636 Aruba was attacked and conquered by the Dutchmen. Aruba got its freedom and began working as an independent government in 1996.
Economy: Aruba boasts about having a low poverty and unemployment rate and highest standard of living in the Caribbean islands.|

Transport System:
Airways: Flights from all over the world arrive and depart from the Queen Beatrix International Airport of Aruba. It takes quite a long time to reach the capital city, Oranjestad, from the airport. Taxis and cars can be hired from here.
Roadways: Cars and taxis can be hired for traveling to any part of the city. Aruba has admirable roads, which offer you excellent conditions for biking. Bicycle, scooters and motorcycles can be hired at reasonable rates. Public buses can be availed from almost every corners of Aruba.

Society & Cultural Life: Aruba islands have a mixed culture of Dutch, Europeans and Americans. Many carnivals can be seen here during the months of January and February.
Educational Institutions: There are many educational institutions in Aruba. The medium of education is mainly Dutch although English and Spanish are taught in lower grades. French and German are taught in higher classes as a third language. Aruba has many colleges like law college, teacher’s training institutions, technical organizations and also hotel management schools.
