Geography: Frankfurt is surrounded by Frankfurt city forest on the south, Main Taunus District on the West, Hochtaunuskreis on the northwest, and Wetteraukreis on the north. The Main River flows through the city. The city of Frankfurt is divided into 46 Stadtteile which is further subdivided into 118 Stadtbezirke.
History: Frankfurt evolved as the most popular trading centre since the Roman times. The Jews community of Frankfurt suffered miserably under the Nazi rule in Germany. 1944 witnessed a killing of more than 1,870 people during the bombing raids by Allied force. The city was captured by the American army in 1945 and was mane German rehabilitation centers headquarter.

Transport System: Frankfurt is connected with the rest of the world by the Frankfurt International Airport. It is one of the busiest airports of the world. Frankfurt is also accessible from Frankfurt Hahn Airport located at a distance of 120 km from the city. One of the main public transports of the city is the two underground railway systems: U-Bahn and S-Bahn and the Trams. Majority of the population avail these transport systems. Taxis and buses are available from every corner of the city. Bicycles can also be hired at cheaper rates.
Society & Cultural Life: A few of the cultural festivals of Frankfurt are International Music Trade Fair, Wilhelmstrassenfest Theatrium, Museumsuferfest, Weihnachtsmarkt and International Jazz Festival. The streets are flooded with people dressed in colorful clothes.
Educational Institutions: Johann Wolfgang Goethe University and HfB - Business School of Finance & Management are the two universities of Frankfurt
under whose umbrella there are several schools and colleges. Philosophical-Theological Institution of Saint George running since 1950 is also a very popular institution of Frankfurt. The best institutes for research in physics, chemistry, neurology, and computer science are the three Max-Planck-Institutes namely the Max Planck Institute for European History of Law (MPIER), Max Planck Institute for Biophysics, and the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research.
