The transport system of the town is excellent. The Sahel Metro has a stop in Monastir centre and it is 30 minutes to Sousse (northern direction) and just over one hour to Mahdia (to the south). The airport is only two stations away and takes only 10 minutes to reach there. The popular Skanes and Zone Touristique is 3 stations away and takes 12 minutes to reach there.
The tourist information office, ONTT is situated opposite Bourguiba Mosque in the centre of the town. They will give you a very basic map and a list of hotels and some general info about other places in Tunisia.
