Monastir is situated at the end of a small rocky peninsula in the southern end of Gulf of Hammamet. This is an ancient city going back to the Phonecian times and provides many Tourist Attractions in Monastir. The Bourguiba Mausoleum is located at the north side of the cemetery in Monastir. It was built in the year 1963 as the burial mosque of the erstwhile President Habib Borguiba along with his family. There are two octagonal pavilions at the entrance on which it is constructed. There are two long minarets of 25 meter height. On its right stands the little marabout of Sidi Bou Zid.

The Bourguiba Mosque is another popular attraction. Situated in the Rue de l'INdependence, it has an octagonal Minaret of 41 meter high and is landmark in the city. It was built in the year 1963 and is designed on the Hammouda PAcha Mosque in Tunisia.

The yachting harbor or the Port de plaisance is a popular tourist attraction. There is a new holiday complex called Village touristuque. Medina is another place to visit in Tunisia. There is a battlemented wall that was built in the 18th century. There are many souks and the items on sale here are comparatively high.

Moknine is located on the shores of a salt lake. It is a small town that is famous for its craft products of jewelery and pottery. Among the most visited museums in Monastir, The Folk Museum in Moknine provides interesting items like the "tube vaulting" that were found at Bulla Regia. Another museum found here is the Museum of Costume in the tourist office building in Rue de l'Independence. Here one can see wedding costumes from across Tunisia. To the southeast of Medina lies the business and shopping district. There are Congress Center, Theater and Library.

Ribat is located near the harbor of Monastir. It was built in the year796 and is one of the he oldest Arab fortresses in North Africa. It is similar in design to Sousse. To its southeast side one finds a three storey Nador tower. From the top of the tower, one gets some good views of the yachting harbor and also the cemetery.
