One of the most popular Tourist Destinations in Tunisia, Nabeul is the main centre of the Tunisian pottery industry. Nabeul was founded by the Greeks of Cyrene, serving as a trade port in the 5th century BCE and it was conquered by Agathocles in the 3rd century. The settlement was destroyed by the Romans and in 2nd century, it was rebuilt by the Romans and was called Neapolis. The Andalucians settle in Nabeul in the16th century bringing with them the art of pottery.
