Turkey is an Eurasian country. Turkey is bordered with Mediterranean Sea in the south, Black sea in the north and Aegean sea in the west. It extends from Anatolian Peninsula situated towards the southwestern part of Asia to the Balkan region situated towards the southeastern part of Europe. The country is landscaped by lakes, coastal plains, plateaus, mountains and rivers.

While coffee houses are common in cities. In winter the Turkish people enjoy cinnamon flavored sahlep which is prepared from iris roots. The other popular winter drink is boza which is prepared by fermenting barley. Other popular drinks in Turkey are Raki, turnip juice, elma chai, sour cherry juice, apple peel tea and rose tea.
