Ras al-Khaimah is one of the most visited Tourist Destinations in UAE. This emirate is spread over 1700 square kilometers. Ras al-Khaimah is situated in the northern part of the Arabian Peninsula. The Location of Ras al-Khaimah is between the Hajjar Mountains in the east and the Arabian Gulf in the west. It is also bordered by the country of Oman. Ras al-Khaimah is an hour from Dubai.

Ras al-Khaimah was also known as Juffar in the olden times. The Qawasim clan (Huwayla tribe) established itself in Ras al-Khaimah in the early 18th century. Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr al-Qasimi signed the General Maritime Treaty with Britain in 1822 after the British occupation. Through this treaty the sheikh agreed to become a protectorate to keep the Ottoman Turks from invading the region.

A major turning point in the History of Ras al-Khaimah was in the 1980’s when the Saleh oilfields were discovered. Ras al-Khaimah city is the capital of the Ras al-Khaimah state. The city is divided into two parts, the eastern part is known as the Old Ras al-Khaimah which has government departments and the Ras Al Khaimah Museum. The eastern part is known as Al Nakheel and has government departments and commercial companies.

Ras al-Khaimah also has an important industrial area known as the Khour Khuwayr industrial area. It is located 25 kilometers to the north of Ras al-Khaimah city. The main port of Ras al-Khaimah is Saqr Port. The Digdaga district in Ras al-Khaimah is well known for its agricultural projects and the biggest pharmaceutical factory in the Gulf. Some of the Attractions in Ras al-Khaimah are the Hot springs of Ain Khat, Al Ghail Wadi, Awafi Desert and Al Manar Mall. The Ras Al Khaimah International Airport is connected by numerous flights worldwide.
