A non profit making organization dedicated to the study, and maintenance of the integrity of the Alaskan marine ecosystem, Alaska Sea Life Center is a well known tourist attraction. Alaska Sea Life Center is open all round the year. From April 15 till September 15, the center is open from 8:00 in the morning till 7:00 p.m in the evening. However, from September 16 to April 14, the center is open from 10:00 in the morning till 5:00 in the afternoon. The center remains on some special days of the year like like Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. The center reopens on New Year's Day (January 1st) at noon.
The visitors are facilitated by free wheelchairs and strollers. The guests can enjoy moving at their open pace at the center. There are daily lectures and other interesting activities based on marine life are held at the center. Children below the age of 6 are admitted free.
