Michigan Tourist Attractions

The several Michigan tourist attractions draw thousands of tourists to the state of Michigan in the United States of America every year. The Michigan tourist attractions comprise all sorts of attractions from statues and repositories to historical edifices, imposing bridges and bewitching artificial fountains.

One of the famous tourist attractions of Michigan is the Jackson Cascades, Michigan. The Jackson Cascades, Michigan are fountains of flowing waters that seem to appear beautifully colored due to the excellent computerized lighting system that helps to bathe the fountains with its powerful beams. The waters of the Cascades also appear to dance to the beat of the background music that is played when a show is on.

The Michigan tourist attractions also comprise other important sites such as the Shrine of the Snowshoe Priest and the Belle Island, Detroit, Michigan. The Shrine of the Snowshoe Priest was built in the nineteen seventies in honor of the priest Baraga who is supposed to have preached to the Red Indians of Michigan great virtues of purity and goodness while traveling across snow-covered terrains with the help of large snowshoes.

The Shrine is visited by several religious-minded tourists because it is an indispensable element of their Michigan tours. The statue of the Priest has been simply designed and mirrors the simple but great ideals of the priest. The Shrine is encompassed by small citadels that can hold large candles. The Shrine of the Snowshoe Priest is approximately the altitude of a six-floored residential building. The Snowshoe Priest has been depicted holding gigantic snowshoes in his left hand and a mammoth cross in his right hand. The statue of the Priest has been manufactured from brass and is extremely impressive to behold. It is a must-visit site among the Michigan tourist attractions.

The Belle Island, Detroit, Michigan is also hailed as one of the chief Michigan tourist attractions. The Island is renowned for its Nature Center that is pervaded by dense greenery and copious vegetation. The Island also houses extensive grounds for playing tennis and baseball. The Island is visited by several tourists and their families because its grounds are suitable for exciting picnics.
