El Junquito

El Junquito is a clean and pretty village just 15 kilometers from Caracas. It is a favored destination for people seeking a weekend away with some fresh air. Horse riding is a popular form of adventure here. It is a nice place to enjoy a picnic.

Banco Central de Venezuela,

The mezzanine of this building consists of an exhibition of national treasures. These treasures consist of the Espada Del Peru or the Peruvian Sword, jewelry and decorations belonging to Simon Bolivar, the first coin made in Venezuela dating from 1802, paper money issued during the War of Independence and other historical pieces. The Biblioteca Nacional is located in the Southeastern corner of Plaza del Panteon, It is the largest library in Venezuela. Apart from extensive book collections, the library has information services at your disposal, publications, reproduction facilities, audiovisuals, old documents and maps. The library also arranges talks. Those who want detailed historical information about Venezuela need to go to the newspaper library section. Here one can consult papers from the 20th century. The microfilm room houses a considerable collection of documents.
