Parque de Las Cinco Repúblicas, Merida is positioned at the northern end of Merida, where a deep valley abruptly cuts into the city. You will find here two monuments: to the right is La Columna a Bolívar, or rather a column with the Liberator's bust on top. This monument was constructed in the year 1842. It was the first monument ever dedicated to the independence hero. The Parque de Las Cinco Repúblicas, Merida is one of the most sought after tourist attractions in Merida.
