The Hacienda La Victoria, Merida is a major sightseeing attraction for the young and old alike. The Hacienda La Victoria, Merida is basically a well-known farm with a mansion which is placed inside it. You will come across the colonial structure of Hacienda La Victoria a few kilometers away form the city of Santa Cruz de Mora which is an important city of the state of Merida in Venezuela. The building was started in the year 1893 and was completed by the immigrants from Italy for the purpose of processing and storing coffee. The present status of the farm is that it houses a college of agriculture and a museum within the mansion both of which are dedicated to the immigrants and coffee.

The Hacienda La Victoria, Merida spans over an area of 4 hectares within the valley of Mocoties. The farm van be seen in the northern part of the River Namesake flowing across one of the most traditional coffee state of Venezuela. The mansion was built with tile and wood and has a facade which is around 40 meters long. There is a vast courtyard and a small square area in which the whole building stands . This mansion acted as the residence of the family at the top floors and that of the workers in the bottom floors.

The museum inside the farm houses exclusive photographs from the period when the farm had a very good production along with machineries which had been brought from England for trite, washing and toasted coffee. Another museum refers to the immigration when the foreigners can and settled down in the Andean area in the 20th century. They brought along with them their rich culture and traditions which lead to the development of new commercial regions. The exhibition comprises a series of photographs and many other objects which have great historical importance.

The school operates under the University and is famous as the College of Agriculture Francisco Paparoni. The name has been derived from the name of Fransico Paparoni, the brother of Don Calogero whose name is associated with the founding of the farm. While in Merida try and visit the Hacienda La Victoria as it is one of the finest places in and around the city and its worth a visit!
