Called “Camosack” by the natives, “Victoria” was born in 1843. Named after the then Queen of England, it was founded by the British Hudson’s Bay Company, which was a fur trading company. Much of the main town is dominantly and essentially British in influence and practice. Today, Victoria is not just a booming trading site; it is also the capital of the Canadian province of British Columbia. It makes for a very beautiful capital city at that. Having a pleasant breezy clime almost all year round, the city is covered with blossoming flora and fauna. For this reason, it is casually termed as the “Garden City”.
