Both of them exchange vows and promise loyalty, love towards each other. The couple circles round the holy fire for seven times. According to Hindu customs ‘parikrama’ or ‘mangal fera’ symbolizes completion of marriage according to Hindu Marriage Act. However before the bride and the broom get ready for fera, the holy marriage knot is tied. Generally the one end of the groom’s scarf is tied to the other end of the bride’s dress. The priest enchants the hymns. Generally the hymns are in Sanskrit.
Pani Grahan is an important part of the Hindu Weddings. The groom holds the right hand of the bride in his left hand. He then accepts her as his wife. After this the couple seeks the blessings of the elders.
